TERMS & CONDITIONS
1. Acceptance of Terms
By leaving any item with Art’s Cleaners, Customer acknowledges and agrees to these Terms & Conditions. No verbal statements or representations shall modify these Terms.
2. Condition of Garments / Pre-Existing Damage
All garments are accepted at Customer’s risk due to inherent cleaning risks. Art’s Cleaners is not responsible for damage resulting from:
normal wear and tear,
weakened, worn, or deteriorated fibers,
age, perspiration, sunlight, insects, mildew,
manufacturer defects (including dyes, stitching, adhesives, trims, fasteners),
prior damage or improper prior cleaning.
We make reasonable efforts to follow care labels; however, care labels are not guarantees, and results cannot be predicted.
3. Inherent Risks of Cleaning (Customer Assumes Risk)
Customer expressly accepts the risk of:
color loss, fading, color bleed, dye transfer, shading differences,
shrinkage, stretching, distortion, bubbling, delamination,
damage to or loss of buttons, beads, sequins, rhinestones, embroidery, glued trims, prints, patches, or heat transfers,
zipper, snap, clasp, or fastener failure,
water spotting, rings, fabric sensitivity reactions,
stains setting, oxidizing, or reappearing after cleaning.
These outcomes do not constitute negligence.
4. Items Left in Pockets / Ink Damage
Customer must remove all items from pockets. Art’s Cleaners is not responsible for damage caused by items left in garments, including pens, markers, ink, cosmetics, electronics, or valuables. Ink damage is permanent and non-recoverable.
5. High-Value / Designer / Specialty Items
Customer must declare high-value, vintage, designer, or specialty items at drop-off.
Undeclared items are presumed to have a value not exceeding the liability cap below. Specialty items are cleaned without guarantee and at Customer’s risk.
6. Alterations & Tailoring
Measurements and fit outcomes are subjective. Minor variations are not defects. Alterations may be non-reversible. Once work begins, charges are non-refundable.
7. Turnaround Times
Completion times are estimates only and not guaranteed. Text/email notifications are a courtesy only and not proof of readiness.
8. Pickup, Storage & Abandoned Property
Items must be claimed within 30 days.
Storage fees may apply after 30 days.
Items unclaimed after 90 days may be donated or disposed of.
Customer waives all claims to items not collected within 90 days.
9. Claims & Inspection
Items must be inspected at pickup.
Claims must be reported within 48 hours.
Items must be returned unworn and unaltered.
Failure to comply voids any claim.
10. Limitation of Liability
Art’s Cleaners’ maximum liability, for any reason, is limited to five (5) times the amount charged for cleaning the specific item after all discounts or promotions.
We are not liable for consequential, incidental, emotional, or replacement damages.
11. Payment & Disputes
Payment is due at pickup unless otherwise agreed in writing. Billing disputes must be reported within 7 days.
12. Right to Refuse Service
We reserve the right to refuse service for safety, contamination, excessive risk, or unclear ownership.
13. Force Majeure
We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our control.
14. Governing Law
California law governs. Venue is Los Angeles County.
